About BPSC
The Bihar Public Service Commission is a body formed by the Constitution of India to select candidates for civil service jobs in the Indian state of Bihar as per the merits of the aspirants and the rules of reservation. The history of Constitution of India reveals that the concept of organizing competitive examination for appointment to certain posts came into existence way back in and a committee for giving shape to that was constituted under the chairmanship of Lord Macaulay in 1854. The Bihar Public Service Commission came into existence from 1 April in the year 1949 after its separation from the Commission for the States of Orissa & Madhya Pradesh, as per the with sub-section (1) of section 261 of the Govt. of India Act 1935, as adapted.
