About CCSU
Chaudhary Charan Singh University formerly Meerut University. It is a public state university situated in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university was formed in the year 1965. It was later renamed to its current name after Chaudhary Charan Singh, former PM of India. Prof. Narendra Kumar Taneja is the current vice-chancellor of the university. Total CCSU students as of 2011 are 29,122. The university commenced as Meerut University later named after Chaudhary Charan Singh.The University has various schools of studies viz. sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, & Engineering. M.Phil & Ph.D. programmes were commenced in the year 1969. In the year1973, Post Graduate level programmes were also introduced with the modernized syllabus.
