Required qualification for the Gujarat High Court Recruitment 2019:

  • Aspirants have to be a law degree holder from a recognized university of law in India.
  • Should be a practitioner of an advocate in Courts of Civil and/or Criminal Jurisdiction.
  • He/ She should be passing ‘Degree in Law’ from the academic year 2009-2010 and onwards along with the passing the All India Bar Examination to be eligible for the term practicing advocate.


  • Should be the working experience in the court or other Allied Departments.
  • Should have certificates of the basic computer application/operation knowledge from any authorized government institutes or other recognized institutes.

Payment Mode For Gujarat Civil Judge Recruitment:

  • The entire application and the examination fee of the Gujarat High Court Recruitment 2019 should be paid through online or from SBI-Branch. In offline through Cash-Challan. (The Challan have to generate online at the SBI e-payment website).
  • And in online payment mode candidates will receive an e-Receipt of the same.

Essential Age limit to apply for the Gujarat Civil Judge Recruitment 2019:

  • For General category-less than 35 years in minimum.

 Main examination patterns and selection method for the Gujarat High Court Recruitment 2019: 

  • For Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test): 
  • The overall test will significantly be of 100 marks. And the duration is set of 2 hours. The entire paper is objective type based, is divided into three key sections: 

In Part-A:

  1. The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
  2. The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
  3. The Gujarat Prohibition Act, 1949 (Old Bombay Prohibition Act).
  4. The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  5. The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881(Only Chapter XVII).

In Part-B:

  1. The Limitation Act, 1963.
  2. The Indian Contract Act, 1872.
  3. The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
  4. The Constitution of India – [Part-III – Fundamental Rights(Articles 12 to 35A) & Part-IVA – Fundamental Duties.

In Part-C:

  1. Knowledge of English language, Numerical & Mental Ability, Basis of computer application, general knowledge & test of reasoning.
  2. The total 75 questions of the preliminary examination paper will be in English and the remaining 25 question is in Gujarati.
  3. The preliminary paper will be online (objective type) OMR Sheet based.
  4. Each question of this paper will carry 01 marks each along with 0.33 marks in every wrong answer.
  5. In the preliminary examination, a candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50 marks to be eligible for the next Main written examination.
  6. For the main Written examination:
  7. The main examination is also divided into three sections based on the syllabus.

In paper-1: (Criminal):

  1. The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
  2. The Probation of Offenders’ Act, 1958.
  3. The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
  4. The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  5. The Gujarat Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887.
  6. The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
  7. The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
  8. The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
  9. The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
  10. The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.
  11. Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994.

In Paper-II (Civil):

  1. The Limitation Act, 1963.
  2. The Specific Relief Act, 1963.
  3. The Gujarat Court Fees Act, 2004.
  4. The Indian Contract Act, 1872.
  5. The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
  6. The Indian Partnership Act, 1932.

In Paper-III (Gujarati Language): about 25% of all remaining questions.

  • In the main written examination, the question paper-I and question paper-II will be in English, while the remaining 25% will be available in Gujarati.
  • Candidates belong to SC & ST should have minimum 45% marks in this examination for the oral or Viva-voce based interview test.
  • And for the other categories’ candidates, the minimum mark should be 50% for the final Viva-voce or oral interview test.

In the final Viva-voce Test:

  • The judgment of the candidates’ mental alertness, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgment, knowledge of the law, skills, attitude, the power of assimilation, character, intellectual depth and ethics are included.
