About IIT Kanpur
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is shortly named as IIT Kanpur or IITK. It is a public engineering institution situated in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It was declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Govt. of India under the Institutes of Technology Act. IIT Kanpur was established in the year 1959 as one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology, the institute was formed with the assistance of a consortium of nine US research universities/institutes as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP). IIT Kanpur was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1959. The IIT Kanpur institute began in December in the year 1959 in a room in the canteen building of the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute at Agricultural Gardens in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. In the year 1963, the institute moved to its present area, on the Grand Trunk Road near the village of Kalyanpur in Kanpur district.
IIT Kanpur Vacancy 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Required Qualification:
- For Project Assistant Post: Interested Candidates must have completed Graduation Degree in any discipline (B Sc/BA/B Com/BBA/BCA) from any recognized University.
- For Project Mechanic Post: Interested Candidates must have completed High School + ITI or High School & must have 5 years of experience.
