The National Institute of Open Schooling is going to conduct the 12th class board examinations in the month of March/ April 2018. About NIOS
The National Institute of Open Schooling is shortly named as and formerly National Open School. It is the board of education under the Union Government of India. It was founded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Govt. of India in the year 1989 to give education to remote areas under the motive to expand literacy & aimed forward for flexible learning. The National Institute of Open Schooling is a national board that administers exams for Secondary & Sr. Secondary examinations of open schools similar to the Central Board of Secondary Education & the CISCE to expand literacy and provides education to rural areas. It also offers vocational programs after the high school. Despite being founded for distance education, National Institute of Open Schooling gives a formal & regular secondary & Sr. Secondary course equivalent to Central Board of Secondary Education.
