NLC is also known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation is a ‘Navratna’ profit-making, Government of India Organization engaged in mining of lignite and generation of power through lignite based thermal power plants. Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited was founded by GoI in the year 1956, following the discovery of lignite submits in Neyveli, TN NLCIL comes under administrative control of Ministry of Coal, GoI & serves as an required source of power generation to the states of TN, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan and Union Territory of Puducherry.
