About NPIU
National Project Implementation Unit is shortly abbreviated as NPIU is a unit of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, founded in August in the year 1990 for facilitation, monitoring, coordination, & to give guidance to the States/ Institutions in all aspects of the projects. In the year 1991 to 2007, National Project Implementation Unit (NPIU) implemented three Technician Education Projects/Works of Govt. of India assisted by the World Bank, which helped to strengthen & upgrade the Technician Academic System & benefited 552 polytechnics in twenty-seven States including UTs of Andaman and Nicobar Island & Puducherry.
