About OPSC
The Odisha Public Service Commission is the state agency authorized to organize the Civil Services Exam for entry-level appointments to the many civil services of Odisha. The recommendations of the Royal Commission on superior services in India, in the year 1924 are referred to in short as the Lee Commission, & now they search place in the Constitution of India in Articles 315 to 323. The Odisha Public Service Commission was formed on 1 April in the year 1949 after its bifurcation from the former Bihar & Odisha Joint Public Service Commission. At the time of creation of the Odisha PSC, the strength of the commission was 3 including a chairman. The strength increased to five in the year 1979 & further increased to six in the year 1996.
