About PJTSAU

The Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University is shortly named as PJTSAU. It is a state agriculture university, which was apart from the central Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University in 2014 as a result of the bifurcation of AP. The PJTSAU  University was formed on 12 June in the year 1964, with O. Pulla Reddy as the 5 vice-chancellors. It was formally inaugurated on 20 March in the year 1965, by Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then PM of India in Hyderabad. Post bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, it was renamed as PJTSAU (Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University). Its headquarters was shifted from Hyderabad to Guntur.
